Terms of Service

1. Commission Process & PaymentCommissions are split into two payments:First payment (deposit) — due after the sketch stage is approved, before I proceed to full rendering.
Final payment — due once the illustration is complete, before final files are delivered.The first payment is non-refundable once paid. This covers the time and work already invested in the sketch and concept stage.
The final piece will not be released until payment is paid in full.
Payment method: PayPal only. Please have a PayPal account ready before commissioning.
By commissioning me and sending the first payment, you agree to all terms outlined in this document.2. Refunds & CancellationsThe first (deposit) payment is non-refundable once paid, as it covers sketch work already completed.
Once full payment is made and the final piece is delivered, the commission is considered complete, and final payment is non-refundable.
If I am unable to complete a commission for reasons on my end after the deposit is paid, a partial or full refund is guaranteed, depending on how much work was completed at the time of cancellation.3. My Right to DeclineI reserve the right to decline any commission for any reason, including but not limited to scheduling limits, subject matter outside my listed content policy, or personal discretion. If I decline before any payment is made, no action is needed on your end. If a commission is declined after the first payment (in rare cases, e.g., scope changes drastically), the deposit will still apply as per section 1 unless otherwise discussed.4. Copyright & Usage RightsI retain full copyright ownership of all illustrations I create, regardless of who commissioned the piece.
Clients receive a personal-use license to the finished piece (e.g., icons, personal social media use, and wallpapers) at no extra cost.
Commercial use (merchandise, branding, resale, promotional/business use, etc.) requires an additional licensing fee—see Pricing at the rates section.
I do not transfer copyright ownership under standard commission terms. Full copyright buyouts may be discussed separately and are priced individually.5. Portfolio & Social Media SharingCompleted artworks may be posted to my portfolio and social media as part of my body of work.
If your commission is intended as a surprise gift or involves a delayed reveal, please let me know in advance—posting can be held back until an agreed-upon date.
If you'd prefer your commission never be publicly posted, this can be discussed as a private commission (may carry an added fee, at my discretion).6. Content Policy

  • Mechas

  • Slight NSFW (lewd/nudity — non-hardcore)

  • Slight gore (blood, scarring)

  • Stylized depictions of real people

  • Semi-realism

Don'ts

  • Hardcore NSFW (fetish content, or pieces where genitalia/private parts are the main focus)

  • Hardcore gore (bodily mutilation, graphic bodily harm)

  • Anime style

  • Offensive or hateful content

  • Replication of another artist's specific style — I work only in my own style

6. AgreementBy commissioning Wathazkie and submitting the first payment, the client confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to the Terms of Service outlined above.
